Our sources
Every guide starts with primary sources. For attractions and museums that means the venue's own website. For parks, roads and public lands it means the managing agency: the City and County of Denver, Denver Mountain Parks, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the National Park Service, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the U.S. Forest Service and the Colorado Department of Transportation. For weather and safety we rely on the National Weather Service and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Reputable news outlets help us learn about changes, such as a road reopening or a new reservation system, and we link to them when they are the best available record.
Each guide ends with a list of the sources used, so you can check anything yourself.
Prices, hours and reservations
These details change constantly. Our rule is simple: we only state a specific time, fee or date when an official or reputable source published it, and we say when that information applies. Otherwise we describe how the system works and link to the official page. If a source we cite disagrees with another, we tell you and recommend checking the official site.
What we will never do
- Invent reviews, star ratings, testimonials, quotes or visitor counts.
- Claim to have visited, tested or eaten somewhere as a marketing device.
- Accept payment to rank or recommend an attraction without a clear label.
- Copy other publications' text. Our pages are written for this site.
Updates and corrections
We review guides regularly and before key seasons, such as ahead of summer reservation windows and the winter driving season. Every page shows when it was last updated. Readers can report errors through our contact page; when a correction is confirmed by an official source, we update the page promptly.
Safety information
Altitude, lightning, wildlife and mountain driving are real risks on many Colorado trips. Our safety notes summarize guidance from agencies such as the CDC, the National Weather Service and the National Park Service. They are general information and not medical or legal advice. In an emergency, call 911.
